2004 Girl Scout Cookie Boycott
http://www.prolifewaco.org/GirlScout.htm

In the spring of 2004, Pro-Life Waco launched a boycott of local sales of Girl Scout cookies because of the close and longstanding entanglement of the Bluebonnet Girl Scout Council with Planned Parenthood of Central Texas. The Bluebonnet Council had for years sponsored Planned Parenthood’s annual sex promotion conference for area youths. Moreover, in 2003 the Bluebonnet Council named the executive director of Waco’s Planned Parenthood abortion clinic as a “Woman of Distinction” to be emulated by young girls.
The cookie boycott created a firestorm of controversy. Within weeks, the Bluebonnet Council severed all ties with our local Planned Parenthood. The controversy resulted in extensive local and national newspaper and magazine stories, web coverage, and television features on Fox’s Hannity and O’Reilly, NBC’s Today Show, and CBN’s 700 Club.
