Abortion Returns to Waco, Texas
The devastating news came in April of 2017. During the week after Easter, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas resumed the shedding of innocent blood at its branch in Waco. In the first era of abortion holocaust in Waco,
​1994 to 2013, Planned Parenthood committed over 19,000 abortions. Sadly, the closure in 2013 was not permanent. Planned Parenthood will face a vigorous opposition from the pro-life community in Waco and Central Texas.

History of Abortion in Waco 
     Planned Parenthood is responsible for the deaths of over 19,000 pre-born boys and girls in Waco. The killing began in January of 1994 at 1927 Columbus Avenue after an extended public controversy over opening a PP abortion center in Waco.
     Planned Parenthood in Waco had operated a birth control etc. center since 1935. From 1994 to 2000, Planned Parenthood destroyed pre-born babies through surgical abortions. In 2001, PP in Waco added the chemical abortion method known as RU-486. This type of abortion uses two pharmaceuticals. One causes a breakdown of the lining of the mother's uterus. A second drug causes contractions to expel the dead baby from the mother.  
     A big change occurred in December of 2011. The Columbus Avenue abortion center was closed and the abortion business was shifted to the sole remaining Planned Parenthood facility at 1121 Ross Avenue. In August of 2013, Planned Parenthood stopped performing abortions, but continued "everything else" at Ross Avenue.
​     In June 2016, United States Supreme Court struck down key provisions of the Texas HB2 abortion law, which was enacted in 2013. This court decision removed the legal impediment for reopening abortion facilities in midsize cities such as Waco. Waco was one of 13 abortuaries that had been shuttered. Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas obtained a license allowing the resumption of abortion in their Waco branch as early as October 2016. Pro-Life Waco watched the Ross Avenue facility closely throughout early 2017 and discerned activities underway to resume abortion. In the first week after Easter, abortions resumed for the second era of abortion in Waco. We pray that this era will be extremely short.

PP in Waco is under the management of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT)
Planned Parenthood in Waco does not have affiliate status within Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Planned Parenthood in Waco is under the direction of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas. PPGT is one of three PP affiliates in Texas. The others are PP of South Texas and PP of the Gulf Coast. Planned Parenthood in Waco became part of PPGT as a result of a merger in 2010. Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas ranges from Austin to Dallas and Fort Worth and out to Tyler. Currently, Planned Parenthood Waco does not commit surgical or chemical abortions. Rather the center in Waco refers clients for abortions carried out by Planned Parenthood in Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth. If Planned Parenthood occupies a new facility in Waco, the shedding of innocent blood could resume.

The Renewed Battle of Abortion in Waco
Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (HQ in Austin) resumed the second era of abortion in Waco the week after Easter--both surgical and chemical abortions. We will pray and work to make this era of death a very short one. The current abortion schedule is Wed/Thurs/Friday of alternating weeks.
On May 1, PPGT held a news conference in Waco announcing that abortions have resumed in Waco. This was the headline story in the Waco Tribune-Herald.
On May 2, CareNet Central Texas parks a borrowed SOS Sonogram van/mini-clinic directly across the driveway to the Ross Ave. facility. This SOS van outreach continues on almost all mornings Monday through Friday.
Sidewalk counseling and prayer support are delivered by CareNet staff, two local pastors, and several of the lay faithful.
The family and friends of Rusty & Kendra Thomas are out at Ross on many days. There are visits from folks from Temple and Arlington who are affiliated with Abolish Human Abortion. The Thomas family is not affiliated with AHA.
Pro-Life Waco pivoted from “Never Again in Waco” to battling abortion with a “Stand Up for Women and Babies” rally on June 10.
Pro-Life Waco has new yard signs and billboards. One billboard is less than a block from PP Waco.
Pro-Life Waco runs a different ad in the Saturday Religion page of the Waco Tribune-Herald just about every week.
Our regular events will include special signage and displays relating to the resumption of abortion in Waco. This includes monthly Life Chain outreach, monthly Pedestrian Overpass outreach and the pro-life booth at the Heart of Texas Fair in October.
PLW will deliver a strong fall 40 Days for Life campaign September 27 to November 5. There will be a priority in gaining church participation for this campaign and maintaining church involvement for the long term. Aine Fitzgerald will direct the 40 Days for Life campaign.

Abortion in Waco and the geography of preborn baby killing in Texas.
1. Waco and dozens of neighboring counties.
Prior to the impact of the HB2 law, this Central Texas area was “served” by a Planned Parenthood facility in Bryan and an independent abortion facility in Killeen. In that era, the abortion facility in Waco had clients from McLennan a several nearby counties. The Waco abortion facility today has a very broad marketing potential in the heart of the State of Texas.















2.  Waco in relationship to existing abortuaries.
PPGT’s Waco branch is the only abortion facility within the triangle of Dallas, Austin, and Houston.
3. The 8 abortion holocaust cities in Texas Today: Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, McAllen, San Antonio and (sadly) Waco.
4. With the Texas HB2 abortion legislation of 2013, abortion facilities closed in 13 Texas midsize cities from Lubbock to Harlingen to Corpus Christi.
Only McAllen remained. The single city to have an abortion facility reopen after the Supreme Court struck down provisions in June of 2016. The single city where abortion has resumed in Texas is Waco. It would be folly to think abortion clinic managers do not have their eyes on other Texas midsize cities.
The ominous HWY 6 construction project
     There is more negative news.  Pro-Life Waco has a strong indication that the building now under construction at 700 W HWY 6 will eventually occupied by Planned Parenthood in Waco. This location is between Providence Hospital and the intersection of HWY 6 and Bosque Boulevard. This center could become a high-profile abortion facility attracting mothers from dozens of Texas Counties.
     Tips have been received from within the local building contractors community that the HWY 6 facility is for Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood’s name is not on the building permit.  This is the way PP operates when they try to hide their identity—as with PP abortion facilities in Dallas, Aurora, IL, and New Orleans. Planned Parenthood knows that if the word gets out, there will be an uproar. Planned Parenthood is definitely correct in that regard.
     In the case of New Orleans, when Planned Parenthood’s identity became known, the former Bishop of Austin, the Most Reverend Gregory Aymond publicly opposed the construction. He also warned that contractors involved would never work on projects for the Catholic Diocese of New Orleans.
     Pro-Life Waco is trying hard to get more information about the HWY 6 construction project and is encouraging contractors to abandon the project or not get involved if they have not already done so.

Here is "Dr." Nicola Moore walking into PP in Waco to begin a day of shedding of innocent blood. Nicole has flown from New England (likely Cambridge, MA) to commit abortions in several states. This has included Iowa, Mississippi, South Dakota, Nebraska, and now Texas. She is single, post-abortive, and in her 60s. Moore as been written about more than most abortion, she seems to enjoy notoriety. Check her out. I would like to know if she is performing abortions in cities other than Waco.
