Sights and Scenes of Roe Rally in Waco
Roe v Wade was overturned at 9:15 AM on June 24. Pro-Life Waco delivered its Roe Decision Day Rally at 4 PM at Planned Parenthood Waco. The rally featured a 100+ degree temperature, great speakers, cold watermelon, a prayer flight over the rally and more. The environment was joyful and spirit-filled. We also had a somber realization of the challenges that lie ahead. Well over 100 attended. Pro-Life Waco's Director, John Pisciotta reflected on the rally, "Today's rally provided a glimpse of what made this day possible. In oppressive weather, pro-lifers came out to honor the millions of lives lost and to recognize the harm to millions of moms and dads. Like today, pro-lifers for 49 years have worked and prayed each day, each week, each year until God granted this milestone. And now, we continue to seek God's favor in building a Culture of Life and Love that will make abortion unthinkable." The Waco rally was held in solidarity with over 100 cities nationwide under the leadership of Eric Scheidler and Pro-Life Action League of Chicago. One of the goals of the rallies was to garner positive media attention at a time when the opposition would be very active and abrasive. That certainly happened in Waco. The Pro-Life Waco rally was the page 1 newspaper story and two television stations covered the event. |
