The cost of the newspaper ad was $3,700.
How did Pro-Life Waco pay for the ad and boost its budget? See below for the answer. This will also work in your hometown. What you see below is the upper half page of the ad. The bottom half is 500 more names! See the entire ad as a PDF file here. To recoup part of the $3,700 ad cost and $1,000 of promotional expenses, Pro-Life Waco asked households to donate $5 to $50 to be listed on the ad. Any surplus would support PLW outreach. The response was beyond expectations and very enthusiastic. Donations more than covered costs and made a significant contribution to our outreach budget for 2021. PLW will definitely hold on to this arrow in our outreach quiver.
We learned a lot in our first year that can help for the 2022 ad. (See left hand column to find out how you can sign on today for the 2022 ad for as little as $5.) Our goal for 2022 may be 1,000 names--requiring a spillover ad on a second page. We should have started at least a month earlier. We need to have more "captains" promoting within their spheres of influence. For 2022, the ad will include a section for churches, organizations, and businesses. Our 2021 ad more than tripled the annual contributors to Pro-Life Waco. We will stay in touch and encourage these newcomers to become pro-life activists. Pro-Life Waco stands ready to help you deliver a 2022 Roe Day Ad in your hometown. Contact John Pisciotta at 254-644-0407 or [email protected]. As far as we know, Waco was the only city in Texas or the nation to have a Roe Day signature ad. We hope this will not the reality for 2022. Switching metaphors, a baseball pitcher needs many different pitches to get batters out. Likewise, local pro-life action can battle and win over abortion by having more arrows in our quivers. |
A new arrow
in the pro-life quiver. Inspiration
for this ad John Pisciotta, Director of PLW On 9-11 of 2020, I picked up the Waco Tribune-Herald and saw a full-page ad from a local business owner. The ad honored lives lost in the 9-11 tragedy. My thought was that if Central Texans truly abhor abortion, then we should have an ad on the anniversary of the Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision. Pro-Life Waco decided to ask for small donations to be included in the ad expressing solidarity with precious babies in the womb and their mothers. See the middle column for how this Roe Day outreach can have a big impact in your hometown. |
